Fabrication

We get involved with all kinds of projects from prototype R&D work to fitting out double decker buses(see below). This is all a welcomed challenge to us and with our years of experience and wide range of facilities we generally managed to achieve the requirements of our customers.

Using all types of materials and finishing technics we can offer sheet metal products for all applications. For example, mild steel is a cheaper material but will rust, apply hot dip galvanising or powder coating and this now will be rust resistant for many years. Aluminium is more expensive but as it is a non-ferrous metal therefore it will not rust so a 2nd coating is not required. Aluminium is also a light material but very soft so liable to scratch easily. Stainless steel is the most expensive and again a non-ferrous metal so will not rust but is very hard-wearing and will last for years which is why it is used in commercial kitchens, external hand rail and boat equipment for example.

Below, are some of our projects we have made over the years.

  • Our client purchased this old double decker bus when they got retracted from London. We converted the downstairs into a kitchen with stainless steel worktops, gas hob and sink unit. Then the upstairs was the seating area. Travelled around New Forest/ Hampshire for all the country and horse shows.

  • We stripped off the rear end of this old glider trailer, extended the height and length of all the frame work then re-clad in aluminium sheet. Now it can be used for a different size glider.

  • Sabre Marine Engines(Caterpiller) in Dorset contacted us about developing a prototype for an accoustic generator unit for boats. We spent many hours working with their design team and engineers and finally design a unit with aluminium pentpost frame, mild steel panels which are accoustic lined. Then a powder coated finish to give it a great look.

  • Our client installed a commercial dishwaher in a Bournemouth hotel and required stainless steel lead in and lead out tables to keep all the excess water contained. With a washdown welded in sink unit, overhead hose and scrapper rings for food waste.

  • This is a 2 level platform to access paint line equipment. Using mild steel box section with a powder coated finish and aluminium tread plate.
